Frequently asked questions

Here are some common questions about Twish Cart

Twish Cart is a smart group grocery platform that lets families, friends, and community members pool their grocery orders to buy directly from wholesalers, distributors, and local producers.

By ordering together in volume, we unlock wholesale pricing and pass the savings back to households, while supporting local suppliers and reducing food waste.

Twish Cart is currently piloting in selected neighborhoods in Ottawa, Eastern Ontario, and parts of Québec, with new areas added gradually.

When you create an account, you’ll see if your postal code is currently supported or if you can join a waitlist.

We work with:

  • Food wholesalers and distributors

  • Local producers and farms

  • Liquidation and surplus centers (for specific deals clearly identified as such)

Our goal is to prioritize local and regional supply whenever possible, while still offering popular national and international brands.

  • Join/create grocery pools

  • Reserve quantities

  • Add multiple delivery or pickup profiles (e.g., for a relative or neighbor)

  • Indicate in the notes if someone else will pick up the order, giving their name and phone number.

After the deadline, cancellation may not be possible because the order is already being processed

In exceptional cases (medical emergency, major error), contact Support; we will review on a case-by-case basis.

A pickup hub is a community micro-distribution point where bulk orders are:

  1. Delivered and checked

  2. Sorted into individual orders

  3. Made available for scheduled pickup

Pickup hubs help reduce delivery costs and make group buying possible.

In some regions, we offer optional home delivery. Availability depends on:

  • Distance from the hub

  • Delivery windows

You’ll see delivery options and fees in checkout when available.

We work with vetted wholesalers, distributors, and local producers. We:

  • Respect cold chain requirements for chilled and frozen items

  • Check for visible damage or spoilage

Some items that come from liquidation or surplus channels might be labelled beyond the ''Best Before'' date but still good for consumption. We:

  • Label them clearly with best-before dates

  • Offer them at significant discounts

To learn more about the dates label on food, visit Inspection Canada
